A multi-role documentary shoot with the association Les Historateurs, awarded a departmental memorial-initiative prize.
For the association Les Historateurs, a documentary that follows a presenter across military terrain often dangerous and hard to reach (forts and remains of the 1944 battle of Metz). A historical subject, where every choice of frame is also a choice of respect: neither spectacle nor decorative illustration.
On a subject like this, getting out of the frame does not mean doing more. It means refusing the reflexes of the memorial film. Held frames, plain light, no effect coming between the viewer and the story. Close to two weeks of filming in total, spread across all of 2024, in a multi-role capacity (camera, sound, drone piloting, and occasionally on screen), followed by two weeks of editing with a co-editor based in Strasbourg.
Never with a quote. Tell me what you want to show, and we will look together at whether it deserves a film.
